About
The ReelHeART International Film Festival
The ReelHeART International Film Festival [RHIFF]
was founded in 2004, by a film supporter and world
traveler of Irish descent who speaks 3 languages.
Our founder had a vision that a new film festival could
be formed to fill the void created by the growing
trend of 'niche' festivals. We are proud to call
ourselves a 'truly open festival', accepting films
of all genres, countries and film lengths.
The fact that our founder speaks English, Spanish and French, was the determining
and concluding factor that we will also promote English, Spanish and French
as the "official languages" of RHIFF. We will integrate these
languages into our festival programming and promotional materials as often
as possible. We hope to reach our goal of offering a fully tri-lingual
web site in 2007.
To this end, films submitted in Spanish and French
will not have to be subtitled specifically for our
festival. We believe this will add to the cultural
and creative exchange throughout RHIFF from planning
stages to launch of the 2nd Annual RHIFF Festival
June 19-24, 2006.
This will also help bring cultural mix of dedicated
sponsors, media and film goers to our event and establish
long term relationships with RHIFF.
The RHIFF is dedicated to supporting the need for
exposure for all levels of independent filmmakers
around the world. The ReelHeART International Film
Festival will put emerging and student artists alongside
established and master filmmakers in an effort that
all filmmakers can be recognized for their art, rather
than their credits. The RHIFF also has a goal to
satisfy and challenge the interests of filmgoers
and film supporters to encourage, reward and celebrate
the ReelHeART of film and new media. Whether film
goer, filmmaker, reviewer or media, the welcome you'll
receive at the RHIFF will be talked about from one
year to the next...and not just at the RHIFF.
