The
party started to rock way early and filmmakers, fans, sponsors and supporters
could not wait to to get their ReelHeART rave on. Two floors of revellers
and well wishers partied until 3AM.
Terrific raffle prizes. Amazing food.
The best beer ever - so much so, that we ran out of the famously delicious
Denisons Brewery private stock. And of course the Grand Prize giveaway of
our 32"
Flat Screen TV---was drawn at 1AM and carted off the premises into a carload
of screaming girls.
ReelHeART
is just getting bigger every year. Heck, we even
had plants from other festivals at our events and
films to poach our writers and filmmakers.
Aren't
those other festivals supposed to be orginal and
have their own ideas...? Safe to say, they'll
never get
the secret combination to our 11 herbs and spices...

June
05, 2007 - New
Awards Announced
Every season at ReelHeART we add elements
to make the filmmaking and film going experience
full and exciting. With this new announcement,
we weren't expecting to announce this until
our 5th season.
But we can't keep this secret any longer.
In three short years that ReelHeART
has been screening films from around the world, we've
witnessed, delightedly
so, the ever increasing quality of the films
submitted to ReelHeART and eventually making it
into either our Main program or Venue program.
Last year we added Best Sound and Best
Editing at just the right time, as two terrific
films won these honours, with Deadpan Valentine from
the UK taking Best Editing along with 1st Place Feature
Film.
This year, many films have touched us
through the screening and scoring rounds. It's the
story- always the story that we focus on here at ReelHeART.
When that story explodes off the screen
with belly laughs or sobbing,or when that story seems
to pierce you right through in some way - we know there's
something else going on. Something the director had
hoped for with their film - they hoped they got the
casting right.
Well, you did. This season ReelHeART
is proud to announce two new awards-
Best Actor and Best Actress
Thank you for these performances...
Sincerely,
Shannonn Kelly, Director
ReelHeART International Film Festival (RHIFF)

We also want to thank the Music Video

October
1st , 2006 - New Stuff for RHIFF 2007
We're called the "Filmmakers Film Festival" for
a reason.
Besides bringing terrific films to our growing
audience, we earn the filmmakers' respect by living
up to our mission statement and we always ask ourselves "What
does a filmmaker want? What excites a filmmaker to submit to a festival?"
We
think we come up with some good answers-Last year RHIFF added 2 new award
categories - Best
Sound and Best Editing.
For 2007 we are
incredibly pleased to announce we've added a new
competition - Feature
Film Screenplay CompetitionThis
completion is open to screenplays of any genre
with a length between 90-120 pages.
The Top 3 winners will get a full
script read with critique in front of our live
Lunch n Learn audiences. The 2nd & 3rd Placewinners will
earn a One-on-One with a top script doctor in Toronto. The 1st Place winning
script writer will receive an award, goods & services and representation
by a respected Canadian agent-

and emails from interested distributors.
While some films are currently being reviewed,

are seriously being considered for acquisition

The Endless Rayce by Brett Darken
Deeper Than “Y” by Leona
Siller
Awakening by Joel Weber
and Dominic Howes
What’s Going On? by
Marco Aguilar and Cheyenne
