ReelHeART Programmers Pledge©
-
Do you get the feeling that festival programmers only watch the first 10 minutes or less of your film?
-
Do you get the feeling that festival screenplay competitions read the first 10-15 pages of your screenplay?
Not at ReelHeART…
ReelHeART PROGRAMMERS PLEDGE©
“We, the RHIFF Programmers, Reviewers and Judges, pledge that we will read every page or watch every minute of every submission given to us to screen, read and score at the ReelHeART International Film Festival (RHIFF).
We will read each screenplay in its entirety and keep reader notes on file.
We will give each film the attention it deserves; from Opening Credits to the Closing Thank You’s, Location Credits and Cruelty to Animals waiver.
We will prove we saw the complete film by documenting the exact running time.
We will keep scorecard comments on file and we may share them with the filmmaker upon request.
We pledge to watch your film ‘From moment one to moment none’…”
Everyone’s personal point of view about film is subjective. Siskel and Ebert had legendary arguments on what constituted a good film. It’s possible that if Gene Siskel never proclaimed”Booty Call” as one of his his guilty pleasures, Jamie Fox may have forever been known as “Ugly Wanda” instead of an Academy AwardTM winning actor for his performance in “RAY”…
It’s A Wonderful Life? The original Ocean’s Eleven spawning three contemporary sequels? A King Kong remake? And arguably a very good one…!
Some films start off well and die at the middle, others start off slow and ramp up to become a sentimental favorite or an unexpected thrill ride. Some films have uneven lighting, but posses a great story and great sound. Other films are from student or emerging filmmakers who put the big boys to shame.
To that end, we pledge to give each film the attention it deserves. We will watch your film in its entirety. If your film doesn’t make the final cut you’ll hear it from us first…
ReelHeART International Film Festival (RHIFF) is the innovator and the first festival to offer the “ReelHeART Programmers Pledge©”.
