Hello Filmmakers (and Screenwriters)

I thought I’d never see this day and now I’m on the verge of falling asleep as I have had around 14 hours of sleep in the last 8 days since we began to send out notifications for our 11 film categories.

While we await the announcement of our Top 3 Screenplays, we’d like  you to know ReelHeART International Film Festival (RHIFF) has picked 126 films submitted from over 30 countries to screen for 2009. ReelHeART runs June 22-27, 2009 in Toronto, Canada. This will be our 5th season.

As with previous years, the quality of films and their rounds scores have increased by 10% overall and have really upset the bell curve this year.

What’s also remarkable to note is the music department work on the films this season. There are many excellent original scores and compositions. And titling too. Some very clever opening and closing credits.

We’ve got some great Alumni returning, as well as some new favorites and a few cool Hollywood names that still believe in ‘indie film’. We couldn’t be happier with our selections.

There are a handful of entrants that we want to chat to about their films. These films are in limbo and we’re going to try to work something out if not for this season for 2010. We will reach you via separate emails, as I believe the Submissions Department or GG your ReelHeART Liaison are currently in the process of doing.

Every time you submit a film or screenplay you honor us with your work. We want you to know that. All of you, whether you got into ReelHeART or not.
